Can the FlashBot Max really use a lift on its own?

Yes, through either a cloud integration with the building management system or a hardware module fitted to the lift controller. Which one suits depends on the age and type of your lift, and it is the part of a multi-floor deployment most worth surveying early.

How does a guest open the compartment?

Three ways: a password, a phone number, or an NFC tap. The robot arrives, notifies the recipient, and only the intended compartment unlocks. Staff do not need to meet it.

How many compartments does it have?

Two to four, and the layout is adjustable. A single compartment is 187 × 410 × 280 mm; a double is 380 × 410 × 280 mm. Most hotels run four for parallel deliveries; a lab might run two large ones.

Will it work outside between buildings?

Over short semi-outdoor runs, yes. It uses VSLAM plus lidar and is rated for semi-outdoor delivery, so a covered walkway between two wings is realistic. Open ground, weather and kerbs are not what it is built for.
