The FJD RCM01 is a robotic cylinder mower for golf fairways and premium turf across Perth and WA. Its floating 8-blade reel cuts at 7–44 mm, covering up to 3,000 m²/h for 10 hours a charge at under 75 dB. We survey, map and service it locally, quoted per site assessment.

Every greenkeeper knows the difference: rotary decks tear grass, a cylinder mower shears it like scissors. The RCM01 is the reel specialist of the FJ Dynamics range, built for turf where presentation is the product. A single floating 8-blade reel (177 mm diameter, 300–2,200 rpm) cuts a 686 mm swath at anywhere from 7 to 44 mm, following fairway contours side to side and up and down so the cut stays even over undulating ground.
Capacity is the biggest in FJD's mower line: up to 30,000 m² on a single charge, 3,000 m²/h at full pace and 144,000 m² across 72 hours. FJD's field experience puts one unit at 3 to 4 fairways, cut two to three times a week. At under 75 dB it mows through the night and clears the course before the first tee time, and striping is adjustable from 700 to 5,000 mm with custom mowing angles, so your fairway pattern is repeatable cut after cut.
The maths that matters is per cut, not per month. Fairway frequency is the first thing that slips when a greenkeeping roster is short-staffed, and greenkeepers are exactly the trade WA clubs cannot hire right now. The RCM01 takes over the base cut on a fixed schedule while your qualified crew does the work robots cannot: greens, bunkers, renovation and detail.
Navigation is RTK plus LiDAR with virtual boundaries, no wire. FJD reports uninterrupted operation under tree canopy, with LiDAR holding position where satellite signal drops; we still map tree cover at the site survey rather than take that on faith. Two honest caveats: there is no auto-dock, so charging is a manual plug-in at a parking point (or a 5-minute swap of the four battery packs), and the unit is rated to 45 °C, which suits Perth courses but not extreme-heat inland sites. That is Titan territory.
If the turf is the product, this is the unit. The RCM01 is happiest on large areas of managed grass cut short and cut often.

We scan the course and build a reusable digital map in GolfMind: mowing zones, no-go areas (bunkers, water, drop-offs) and transit paths between fairways.
The RCM01 mows each zone to schedule on RTK + LiDAR, moving itself between fairways along the planned paths. Bumpers and LiDAR avoidance handle carts, players and equipment.
It returns to its parking point for a manual plug-in, about 5 hours to 90%, or staff swap the four battery packs in roughly 5 minutes and it goes again.
The app and GreenMaster platform log coverage, schedule the next cuts and flag reel service by accumulated area. One operator can oversee several mowers.

Greenkeepers are in documented national shortage, and the turf industry's own association is lobbying government about it. For a WA club the practical symptom is simple: fairway frequency slips, presentation follows, and the crew you do have burns its best hours on the most repetitive cut on the course. The RCM01 holds a two-to-three-cuts-a-week fairway program regardless of the roster, overnight and under 75 dB, while your qualified staff keep the greens.
The manufacturer is credible at golf scale. FJ Dynamics was founded in 2017 by a former DJI chief scientist, is backed by Tencent, and FJD reports more than 200,000 autonomy units sold across 140-plus countries, with official golf-course deployments in Poland, Sweden and Japan. Warranty is FJD's global policy: 24 months on the main unit with lifetime free software updates, honoured through proper supply channels.
Service distance is the real spec. The established east-coast FJD dealers do not ship robots to WA or install west of Sydney; we are Perth-based, and we supply and service FJ Dynamics robots across WA. Survey, course scan, mapping, reel setup, backlapping and parts all run from here, with same-day metro response and next-business-day regional support in your time zone.
We will also tell you what the RCM01 is not. It has no auto-dock, so the charge routine needs a staff plug-in or a 5-minute pack swap. RTK wants open sky, so heavily treed corridors get verified at the survey, not assumed. And on a small site cut once a week by a contractor, a robot this size rarely pays: if the numbers do not stack up, we say so and recommend the FRX, or nothing at all.
